ESPF Nr. 2 Austria Holding GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of European Sustainable Power Fund Nr. 2 GmbH & Co. KG (ESPF 2), a specialised investment vehicle focused on wind and solar power generation assets across Europe. ESPF 2 provides institutional investors with access to proven wind and photovoltaic technology, delivering stable returns and supporting Europe’s energy transition towards a low carbon economy. Established prior to the introduction of the German Investment Code (Kapitalanlagegesetzbuch, KAGB), ESPF 2 is not subject to the classification under the Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 on sustainability-related disclosures in the financial services sector (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, SFDR) but maintains a strong sustainability orientation through its exclusive focus on renewable energy generation.
Investment strategy
ESPF 2 follows a core strategy, investing in a regulatory and regionally diversified portfolio of fully operational wind and photovoltaic plants, thereby supporting the continuing decarbonisation of the European power generation fleet. ESPF Nr. 2 Austria Holding GmbH pursues an inherently sustainable investment objective and contribute to the energy transition in the selected countries, supporting them in achieving of their individual climate targets. Our goal is to combine economic success with environmental and social responsibility, acting as a reliable partner for sustainable investments.
Portfolio
It is our belief, that broad diversification adds stability and resilience to an investment. ESPF 2 – with its equity commitments of EUR 500 million – focused on wind and photovoltaic projects in the core European markets. Upon the end of the investment period in 2013 a well-diversified portfolio of 366 megawatts of wind assets and more than 85 megawatts of photovoltaic assets in Germany, France and Italy was established. Together with the active investment and asset management approach, the company focuses on creating long-term value for investors and social environment.
Structure
ESPF Nr. 2 Austria Holding GmbH is a limited liability company under the laws of the Republic of Austria, headquartered in Vienna. Its objective is to hold and finance stakes in wind and solar projects. The sole shareholder is European Sustainable Power Fund Nr. 2 GmbH & Co. KG, a Germany-based closed-end fund exclusively open to professional investors. ESPF Nr. 2 Austria Holding GmbH serves as the central platform to its subsidiaries, consolidating controlling and financing activities, procurement services, risk management and reporting processes, enabling efficient resource allocation and securing full compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
